Scenario: Ampex Engineering met with our Customer’s Engineering Group to review concerns regarding cost and weight of a high volume part they had designed for a car seat. After understanding the performance and load requirements, we suggested a very practical and cost effective solution.
Outcome: Our Engineering Team recommended replacing a very costly cut to length tubing product with a solid aluminum wire/rod. This resulted in a 60% reduction in cost due to material pricing and the elimination of a plating requirement.
